Simple Ways to Be More Present

Sometimes, it seems as if life is going at a fast pace. While the pace of time hasn't changed but life has; there's a growing number of things in our lives as we try to decrease anxiety and stress. Being present in your life is a habit that can be accomplished by incorporating small changes into your everyday life. Make these small modifications and observe small changes to your attitude and life.


  • Be grateful for the small things in life. If you take a moment to be satisfied with the achievements that you have made, you'll live in the present. Think about the things that make your heart happy, and then celebrate them. It can be as easy or as complex. Take the time to experience joy and gratitude during these moments.


  • Try mindfulness as a daily practice. Meditation is an excellent method for developing mindfulness. You can take a brief amount of time to relax in a comfortable position, take note of your body, breathe, and let it go. It can be difficult to silence your thoughts; you can be aware that your thoughts wander - all you need to do is return on track.


  • Pay attention to your body. Stress can be a trigger when we don't pay attention to or counter it. Being conscious of your body's signals will help break the cycle of stress. Your body is constantly sending messages, so you need to be attentive to these messages.


  • Feel your feelings. Feel free to feel any emotion you're experiencing. When you are feeling your emotions, it's essential to acknowledge the feelings, research them, and avoid identifying them.


  • Self-reflect. It can take various ways. Set aside 10 minutes to reflect on your relationships, life, and work. You should ask yourself the most important questions, such as "Am I stressed about things that I can't control" and establish goals to improve these areas of your life.


  • Go digital-free. Technology can add a lot of stress to your daily routine and your time spent with your family members. Your smartphone shouldn't be a part of your life. Set limits for yourself by establishing the limits of time on your phone.


  • Clear your calendar. If you're constantly moving from one point to another, it's hard to stay present. Make some time to relax with your loved ones and enjoy the time.


  • Take time to pamper yourself. Do some reading, practice yoga, go for a walk, or get a massage. This is the perfect time to pay attention to your wellbeing.
